Finally finished a pastel portrait that has been sitting unfinished for awhile. I have always loved Megan Follows as Anne of Green Gables, and couldn’t wait to try to paint her. She was just perfect for this role. So happy she is completed. I’m trying to decide weather I want to sell not only prints, but the original of this one. I have not tried selling any of my original paintings as of yet, but have been considering it for awhile now. It’s just so hard to part from my paintings, but besides the ones that I want to save for my children, they cannot just sit up in files in my drawer, and I know that. So, I believe I will start soon.
Anne of Green Gables-Megan Follows
I would love to try Allie and Noah from the Notebook, of course, another great movie! We’ll see….
I have been wanting to try my hand at portraits of my own kids, since I have so many pictures of them I can choose from. I figured this would be great practice while I come up with more picture of angels, amish children or other paintings for my portfolio. So here is Kelsey. I just love her profile….she looks like she belongs in the victorian era. I would love to try her in a large victorian hat! My other daughter Caitlin, looks like she could have been from the 1940’s. I am going to do her next and you will see what I mean. But for now, here is Kelsey. Hope you like it.
Here is a silhouette I made for Christmas. I know! I know! It’s not even Halloween yet, and I’m posting Christmas ideas. Just like all the stores, right?
I just think it would make a cute, simple Christmas card, or print to hang on a wall with just a plain black frame. Display some holly above it just to add to it a little bit, and you have a conversation piece!
Anyway, I will post this on my Etsy store asap. Hope you like it! 🙂 Cheryl
Here is a pic of another silhouette I decided I’d try. I like the way this came out, too. These are fun to do and I like the fact it is a silhouette and not a colored picture or drawn. That would only take away from the figures. Interesting. I’m going to try to do more. Hope you like it! 🙂 Cheryl
