“Pink” completed, and an Amish Painting Redo

Hello everyone. This took some time, but “Pink” is finally completed. Oh, I wish I had nothing to do but paint all day, but there is still chores to do and orders to fulfill, etc. etc. But lately it has been quiet and I have had time to complete some paintings, and even start new ones.

I really enjoyed painting Pink with all that white hair (which I would just love to have myself). She is so beautiful!

The other painting, the Amish Girl,  you may be familiar with. This was a painting I had done awhile ago.  I had started her in watercolor and couldn’t quite figure out what the background would be. Then when I painted a complete background for her, I never was really happy with it.

When I had found the picture I had started with, a picture I had taken with just her face painted in, I liked it so much, I just added a simple quote to it.  I think I rather like the simple look to this better.

Hope you enjoy these two paintings, and I will show you what I have started in the next post. Until then…blessings!

A New Amish Painting and Calendars For 2018

Hello friends. I am still working on that Lancaster Collage painting, and for some reason my heart isn’t in it, but i’m getting there. My paintings always get to a point where I tend to ask myself, “Should I have used watercolors or acrylics instead of pastels for this?”  But I think I am using the right media, so I will stick with pastel and see it to the end. I will post a picture soon.

Also, I am starting another Amish painting and it’s a little different as you can see. It’s a little boy peeking over a quilt hanging on the clothesline as tiny bird watches on.   You don’t see much of the boys face, but I wanted to get a grouping of images I love about Amish Country and put them together…nature, the beautiful quilts, the amish children, the labor…it’s kind of all in there…or it will be. Here’s a peek…

My new painting with no name yet

In the meantime, I  also have pics of what my calendar looks like. (These are being made through Zazzle and the link will be at the bottom of this post). I am really excited though because it looks awesome! Whenever I make a pillow, sticker, mug… whatever and see my artwork in print on a product, I feel like I’ve been published or something. It’s just a great feeling to see the colors so vivid, a product someone can use, and it’s MY design! So cool. But  it would  be interesting to kind of get and idea on who would be interested in one, so I can decide how I should sell these.  Anyway….here is what it looks like:

I really like the quality of the calendar as it’s very sturdy and the colors are so vivid. This is medium size and the size open it is about 10.5 x 16.5. I think the quotes add a nice touch to the pages that had the space to do so.

I’m sure these will really make a nice Christmas gift.  I have bought a limited amount for myself to sign and sell at Pebbles and Lace in Strasburg. I will be sending these there soon. I will let you know when they are there. If you are interested and want me to sign one and send one to you, I can place a custom order on my Etsy store. If you have any questions, please let me know. You can message me here or email me at mcprop@cox.net.

Well, I will get back to work now and  please let me know what you think!  Thanks everyone!

***P.S. UPDATE:  The calendar is now up on my Zazzle store here calendar

Hi everyone and I’m just letting you know that it’s Christmas in July on Etsy and that there are specials going on all over the site until July 12th.  My shop is giving a promotion of sorts, too!  It’s buy one print from my shop and get another print (of equal or lesser value) for free!  It’s not just on Christmas goods either, it’s on every print!

So if you want to check it out just go to my shop at http://www.cherylmcnultyart.etsy.com and see if there is anything you like.

Also, I am going to try to offer more products from my prints that I create myself, like magnets, journals, coloring pages, wall plaques etc.  It will be a challenge, but it will be so much fun to see how it goes! Let me know if there is anything you would like to see me try, and I will certainly look into it.

But for now, have a happy 4th and here is a new print I just created for all those ballerina’s out there!  Enjoy!

Another Trip To Lancaster Pa

Well, we just came back from a trip to Lancaster for about 6 days, and it was awesome and well needed. I intended to get some great photos so I could add to my pastel collection and do some great paintings. I tried dearly to get as many horses faces and cows, as I really want to try these the most. And do you know what we saw out in a pasture this year in the many back roads and farmlands???? Camels!!! Yes, camels…I had to look twice. I looked it up when I came home and I read that some Amish are now trying using camels milk in products. Wow!

Anyway, we had a great time and even got together with the Amish family we keep in touch with. We had dinner at Yoders in New Holland and the food was the best. It wasn’t overly crowded or over-whelming like Shady Maple down the street. We had great conversation and it is always interesting to see how alike we are in many ways as much as we are different.

Well, here are a few pictures from the trip…and I guarantee I will putting up more Amish-themed pastel paintings very soon, among others, and I may be offering prints for sale as well…so please standby, OK? Enjoy!

Portrait of my daughter, Kelsey

I have been wanting to try my hand at portraits of my own kids, since I have so many pictures of them I can choose from.  I figured this would be great practice while I come up with more picture of angels, amish children or other paintings for my portfolio.  So here is Kelsey.  I just love her profile….she looks like she belongs in the victorian era.  I would love to try her in a large victorian hat!  My other daughter Caitlin, looks like she could have been from the 1940’s.  I am going to do her next and you will see what I mean.  But for now, here is Kelsey.  Hope you like it.Image

My New Website At Fine Art America

Hi all!  I just want to say I have been doing great at posting many pieces of artwork to my new venture, “Fine Art America”.  The newest feature that I think is  really great with this site is that you can create your own website. The website contains every picture I have posted here, but I think it is a great way for artists to get noticed even more.

Please visit at  Cheryl McNulty-Fine Art and click on “visit website” under my pic.  Hope you like it!
