Amish Girl With Lamb Painting Completed

Wow, this may be a record!  I finished a painting in just a couple of days! I was diligent!

I hope you like how this one turned out.  I left some space on the right hand side so I could possibly place a quote there at some point. I do like how she turned out.

I find for me it is always harder to paint in watercolors then it is in pastel. With watercolor, you really have to make decisions on color choices very carefully, because once it’s on paper, it’s stays there.  You can’t erase or go back and change something last minute….so there’s a little tension there in the experience, but I do love the transparency of colors you can get with this medium. It was still fun.

And of course, on to the next one! Thanks!

Amish Girl With Lamb Painting

Hello everyone.  Im so sorry (as always) that I haven’t written on my blog in such a long while.  I am in like this “artist’s block” where I can’t seem to even find time to sit and paint, and when I do, I can’t get my ideas down on paper. It is so frustrating! The other day,  I just grabbed this drawing that I had half done already…inked it and started painting it, just to get in the mood again! This is tough! At least it’s in the works now.  This little, amish girl walking with her lamb is a watercolor painting …which I haven’t done in awhile, so it’s been fun!

I should just paint something daily…anything…just to get the flow going, and the practice! I am going to be in Country Sampler again soon, and this edition comes out the end of May, so I better be prepared for that. I am also going on a much needed trip to Tennessee to see my son just before the ad comes out, so I better get myself going!

But anyway, it’s another start.Hope you like her so far.

New Pastel Picture “Angel With Lamb”

I’m sorry, I know I should be writing more, and I will, but for now, I am trying my pastels out with a fury!  I just finished this one and I am so happy with it.  I love the way the lamb turned out, better than I ever expected.  I have been going on “you tube” for looking up tutorials on how to work with pastels, and have been finding many good ones out there.  The one I like the most is “Colin Bradley”.  He is the one that I followed on doing my lamb. Hope you like it.  I just can’t stop! 🙂
