Another Amish Painting Completed

Again, I have completed yet another amish themed painting. In this painting, a young, Amish woman is taking in the beauty of the warm, sunset glow of the skies at the end of a long, summer’s day. One can almost hear the crickets chirping and cicadas still singing their songs before the sky turns dark here. The soft sounds and warm breeze just bring peace to the soul. This woman’s face reflects this.

I love the peaceful feeling I get when I am painting these scenes. I never tire of it. I hope you like this one too! Can’t wait to do another! :)))

I love the soft, orangey glow reflecting off her cap and dress

Amish Painting “Taking A Break” Completed

Just finished this amish-themed painting titled “Taking A Break”. This amish girl selling fruits from her farm stand is taking a break and just can’t resist trying one of her own apples. This one took me awhile, but I really like the end result, almost looking like a photograph. I’m really happy when everything seems to work and come together…finally! I am also working on two more paintings which are in their last stages…Princess Diana and Laura Ingalls (Melissa Gilbert). I will post them when they are completed. Hope you like this one…I loved painting it!

Amish Girl With Lamb Painting Completed

Wow, this may be a record!  I finished a painting in just a couple of days! I was diligent!

I hope you like how this one turned out.  I left some space on the right hand side so I could possibly place a quote there at some point. I do like how she turned out.

I find for me it is always harder to paint in watercolors then it is in pastel. With watercolor, you really have to make decisions on color choices very carefully, because once it’s on paper, it’s stays there.  You can’t erase or go back and change something last minute….so there’s a little tension there in the experience, but I do love the transparency of colors you can get with this medium. It was still fun.

And of course, on to the next one! Thanks!

New Amish Painting and Finished Amish Garden 2

Well, I finally finished Amish Garden 2! Here it is!

Finished Amish Garden 2

I really enjoyed painting that garden. I added flowers myself …as you can never have enough flowers!

Also, I have many paintings sketched out in my art room/studio.This one I can’t wait to finish painting. It’s a little amish girl looking down at some little animal she’s holding. Is it a duckling? Is it a piglet or kitten? I don’t know myself yet, but I couldn’t wait to start her face, and that’s what helps me decide what color her dress will be, and everything else falls in to place as well. It’s like once the face is there, I can picture the rest of the picture, if that makes sense. So, I will show you more pictures of this as I go along, but I feel this is going to be a nice painting. Please come back to check it out soon! Until next time…

Cow Painting Completed, Amish Girl Continued

Well , I just wanted to share with you the completed cow pastel painting on velour. I think it came out better than I expected and I really love this velour paper for painting animals, and I can’t wait to try more. The next one I might like to try is a piglet or Llama, we’ll see. I hope you like how it turned out.

I also am farther along on my amish girl daydreaming in the back of a buggy. I am really loving this one. I couldn’t decide between a pale yellow dress, or light rose color, and finally decided on the rose. I really like the way this looks so far. What I really like is the way the silhouettes of the amish parents look in the front of the buggy. It’s just enough to let you know they are present, but don’t overshadow the daydreaming, amish girl.

All in all, I’m very happy and can’t wait to complete this painting. Then I can finish Pink and on to Paul Newman! So exciting! Enjoy!
