Another Amish Painting Completed

Again, I have completed yet another amish themed painting. In this painting, a young, Amish woman is taking in the beauty of the warm, sunset glow of the skies at the end of a long, summer’s day. One can almost hear the crickets chirping and cicadas still singing their songs before the sky turns dark here. The soft sounds and warm breeze just bring peace to the soul. This woman’s face reflects this.

I love the peaceful feeling I get when I am painting these scenes. I never tire of it. I hope you like this one too! Can’t wait to do another! :)))

I love the soft, orangey glow reflecting off her cap and dress

New Amish Painting “David and the Baby Goat”

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. Ive been on the mend as I had Covid a week or two ago and it was a little tougher than I thought it would be.

Anyway, I’m back and finally finished this painting, just before I got sick actually. It took this long to put it up! I really like the way this painting came out too. The colors are easy on the eye, with a simple, uncluttered background. The focus is right on David…and those beautiful blue eyes. He has a very determined, but gentle look on his face as he tends to the one of many animals on his farm. This is on my Etsy shop now.

Also, I wanted to show you that I am almost finished with Mary-Ellen Walton. I just have to finish her hat! I would love to paint a picture of the Walton House with a light on in the window like on the show. I will let you know if I ever attempt that. But I will try to paint more I promise. Stay safe and check back soon. Enjoy!

Amish Painting “At Day’s End” Completed!

I finally finished this Amish themed pastel painting titled, “At Day’s End”. I must say, this took me awhile, with a lot of fixing and erasing! But I made it!

With this painting, I wanted to portray an Amish girl lost in her thoughts, at the end of a busy day. At this moment, she is enjoying the quiet and gathering wildflowers as the day turns to dusk. What could she be thinking? What will tomorrow bring, perhaps? I hope you like her.

I added the farm in the background and the quilt for added interest.

I just love the sky!

New Amish Pastel Painting Completed, Eva and the Piglet

Well, she’s finally completed! I’m calling this one “Eva and the Piglet”.

She’s just finished her chores and is enjoying a peaceful moment with the new addition to the family, this little piglet. The serene look on Eva’s face says it all.

I am happy with the way this has come out.  Originally, I  had wanted to put more in the background like a muted farmhouse, or fence, but realized I didn’t want to take away focus from the two of them at all. So I just left the colors to look like the trees in the background, thereby just focusing on the special bond taking place between the two.

I may just  want to add a beautiful quote if I can find one that fits perfectly. If you have any suggestions, I may use it! Thank you for your interest and support.

Annnnnd…..on to the next one!
