New Amish Painting: First Snow At Dawn

I finally finished this piece! I have been working so hard at this and I am so happy with the way it turned out.  I never thought I could actually paint a horse and make him look realistic, but I think I accomplished that here.

When I first drew this out, I was imagining two amish children bringing their horse into the barn in the early hours of the brisk, morning. They are about to go inside, when something startles them, and as they turn to look around, it happens!   The snow starts falling! The First Snow at Dawn.

I really hope you enjoy this one. It’s like the painting is telling it’s own story.

Lancaster Collage Painting

I think I am finally finished with this collage (somewhat) pastel painting of Lancaster County, PA. I probably could add a couple of things here and there, but I just had to post this asap.  This partially completed painting has been sitting near my desk forever and it needed to be completed so I could go on to something new! So here it is!

I really love the colors and the cow looking you in the eye is perfect, as this is cow country! I wanted to put maybe a  hot-air balloon somewhere near the sunset, but I didn’t want to over-crowd the painting. I like the way it turned out and I may want to try another…but not too soon! Hah!  Enjoy!

Amish Boy In The Barn

Here is another completed picture, Amish Boy In The Barn.  As I stated in my previous post, the boy was actually drawn from an old picture of my son when he was quite small.  He had the cutest face!

It was actually a lot of fun to do.  I hope you like the result.  I plan on sending this to manufacturers of designs for the amish tourist areas in the United States. Maybe…just maybe!Image
