“The Country Path” Pastel Painting

As I wait for the Amish Calendar to arrive at my house so I can see what the quality is like, (then I can share it all with you) I have been trying my hand at simple landscape paintings. I wanted to try a sunset with a country path, like something you would see in Lancaster, Pa or any beautiful country place. I got several reference photos together and kind of melded all of them together to make this one. I did have fun as I didn’t have to be so picky. I was happy with the result and now I want to do more of course!

I love all the warm colors and the path looking like it lights the way on it’s own. I even added a simple quote to go along with the painting. Hope you like this. I think my next landscape may be an ocean or beach painting, not sure yet.

As far as the Amish Paintings Calendar, I will let you know when it will finally be up for sale. I’m not sure if I will sell them on Zazzle or on my Etsy Store, but I will definitely let you know in a few days. I will post pictures of what it looks like.

Thank you and have a great day!

P.S. The collage painting in my previous posts will be finished soon I swear!

  1. […] MORE MCNULTY:  Check out Cheryl McNulty’s latest finished painting….it’s of a lovely lane in what looks like Amish country. I know I’ve seen lanes like this before and often wandered down them in my imagination, this painting looks as if you could jump into it and walk down that lane to see what mysteries unfold…click here to see. Your path painting is beautiful. We live in rural area with lots of woods, paths, creeks. Love this kind of painting. But all your paintings are beautiful. Have a blessed day. Helen
