Sweet Dreams Baby Pastel Picture

I ‘ve been wanting to do a baby picture for a while, and so when my nephews wife’s baby shower came up, I figured I would give this as a print with the baby’s name as a gift.  I was so happy with the way it came out.  The tones were just what I wanted.  The baby looks so pink and new.

Hope you like it!  I can’t wait to try to do a few more babies now. :)

Three New Pastel Drawings

I just completed these 3 designs this weekend because I needed to add more to my portfolio. The pastel section of the portfolio seemed like it didn’t have enough, so there you go.  I made Santas and a Halloween design, as these sell the best. New Pastel Picture “Angel With Lamb”

I’m sorry, I know I should be writing more, and I will, but for now, I am trying my pastels out with a fury!  I just finished this one and I am so happy with it.  I love the way the lamb turned out, better than I ever expected.  I have been going on “you tube” for looking up tutorials on how to work with pastels, and have been finding many good ones out there.  The one I like the most is “Colin Bradley”.  He is the one that I followed on doing my lamb. Hope you like it.  I just can’t stop! :)

I am currently trying to keep up on trends and see where my designs will fit in this crazy market.  Any input would be great.  I constantly ask myself, “Do I draw backgrounds, or leave white space?”, “Do I do animals, or children?”, Do I put wording, or leave it blank?”  I never can decide which is best.

Anyway, I’m here and I’m going to keep doing what I do best, and that’s draw and create.  Here’s a preview:

One Morning The World Woke Up – A Poem About The Ending Of War On Earth

I am posting a poem that my mother had me read a long time ago and it stayed with me…almost haunting me.  It is by Oscar Williams and it is especially perfect for today, with all the war and terrible tragedies going on in the world today. Although it mentions the Jews, you can put yourself or anyone else in their place. It really makes you think, and it is almost impossible to imagine a world without war, but it is beautiful to imagine.  The last stanza gives you the hope you almost are afraid to wish for, for you cannot imagine it ever happening, but it is nice to think about.  Read on and dream…

One Morning the World Woke Up

One morning the world woke up and there was no news;
No gun was shelling the great eardrum of the air
No Christian flesh spurted beneath the subtle screws,
No moaning came from the many agony-faced Jews,
Only the trees in a gauze of wind trembled and were fair.

No trucks climbed into the groove of an endless road,
No tanks were swaying drunken with death at the hilltop,
No bombs were planting their bushes of blood and mud,
And the aimless tides of unfortunates no longer glowed:
A break in the action at last…all had come to a stop.

Those trees danced, in their delicate selves half furled
And a new time on the glittering atmosphere was seen; The lightning stuttering on the closed eyelid of the world
Was gone, and an age of horizons had dawned, soft, pearled.
The world woke up to a scene like spring’s first green.

Birds chirped in waterfalls of little sounds for hours,
Rainbows, in miniature nuggets, were stored in the dews,
The sky was one vast moonstone of the tenderest blues,
And the meadows lay carpeted in three heights of flowers:
One morning the world woke up and there was no news.

Zazzle…Here I Come!

Yes, I am now trying to sell some items on Zazzle.com.  This allows me try my designs on different products and I’m hoping it will go over pretty well. Any ideas…please let me know.  There are so many products they make and I can’t seem to decide which design to go with what product!

This is all taking a lot of time and research…and my eyes are getting heavy!  Never have I stayed at this computer for so long (yawn).  I will post more there as I get more into it.  Slow,but sure….
